Special Edition Limited Foose Supercharged

Chip Foose, hot-rodder extraordinaire and erstwhile TV star, is famous for tricking out old sleds, but a pickup truck will be the first vehicle to roll off factory assembly lines with his name attached.

Ford claims the F-150 Foose Edition is "the most powerful half-ton truck on the market," pumping out 450 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels from a 5.4-liter supercharged-and-intercooled V-8. (It's worth noting that a 445-hp F-150 has been available for some time through Roush as part of its Stage 3 performance package.)

Ford can make that "most powerful" claim now that the 500-hp Dodge Ram SRT10 has been discontinued. Ford has been smarting ever since the V-10–powered Ram debuted and left Ford's once-awesome SVT Lightning in its dust.

Other Foose modifications include a unique body kit designed to visually lower the truck—but no actual lowering—massive 22-inch wheels, and Foose-specific interior touches. Look for the Foose F-150—just 500 will be produced in the initial run—at dealerships sometime this fall.

Ford promises the partnership with Foose will produce a series of vehicles and that this F-150 is not a one-hit wonder.
